Peru: Ancash, Huaraz

So we are are back in our old haunts in Huaraz - the city that served as our regional hub during our time in the Peace Corps. We arrived here on Monday morning after a night bus from Lima. Thanks to Movil Tours, the trip went rather smoothly. Since then we have been visiting some of the old restaurants and cafes that we frequented when we came in from our Peace Corps sites. We have also reconnected with some of the people that helped us along the way. We had dinner with one our old CARE Co-workers which was nice to catch up with her. Marta is winning the MVP award the last couple of days getting a lot of our travel plans in order and more importantly sifting through page after page of information that we need to complete for OHSU before we start there in June. I have been a little under the weather so I have been trying to rest up. We head over to our old sites tomorrow and will hopefully be over there for about a week. Our access to reliable communication won't be as good, but we'll try to check in at some point in time.

Huaraz Plaza de Armas - completely redone. Great obra. Actually looks pretty nice.

Dinner with our prior CARE counterpart Elvira at Pizza Bruno.

Doing what we do best at California Cafe - eat and internet.
